My Salt Fix

I make this honey crystal almonds dish (click here for the recipe) from the Almond Board of California all the time but instead of sprinkling the almonds with turbinado sugar, I sprinkle it with sea salt instead. Not only am I not supposed to consume processed sugars anymore, honey is already sweet in itself so why would anyone want to add sugar to it? I think salt is a far superior alternative.

I love this recipe because it’s really easy and takes minimal time and effort to make. Just make sure to check the ingredients if you’re working with pre-roasted almonds because they sometimes use non-primal ingredients such as canola oil or vegetable oil. To be safe, you can roast the almonds yourself or buy dry roasted almonds.

Enjoy!

Ingredients: almonds (raw or roasted), raw honey, butter, sea salt
